  • Supports programs & services that create new business and tourism opportunities, networking venues, trade missions & access to investment capital for fashion businesses
  • Promotes Washington, DC as a fashion destination on par with New York, Los Angeles, London, Paris, Milan & other well known regions
  • Provides a hub for fashion businesses
  • Forms partnerships that support the GWFCC’s objectives in the District and other jurisdictions
  • Increase sales tax revenues by promoting events that generate additional tax revenue for the city.
  • Support fashion week events and fashion industry conferences that have proven profitable in many urban cities around the world by increasing tourism, promoting the use of hotels and restaurants, creating vendor contracting opportunities, and enhancing retail sales.

GWFCC serve as the conduit to help the DC fashion industry host major fashion events, trade shows and conferences and by encouraging and assisting fashion businesses to incorporate in Washington DC, therefore, GWFCC decided to create these programs.
